Judy has been an artist since an early age. Judy studied Art Education in college and has made a career in the art field. As a fashion illustrator, Judy worked for retail department stores. Evolving, Judy then served time as an educational book illustrator, a graphic artist and then in the art department for a large toy company as an artist and designer. In a state of semi – retirement, Judy calls Tucson home. Not willing to put the pencil down, Judy works as a free-lance artist illustrating and designing books for children. Judy is also an accomplished painter working in oils primarily, and also watercolors and pastels. “The Southwest is a great source of inspiration for an artist in terms of light, color, spectacular scenery, wildlife and a rich history and culture”. Aside from her ‘creative’ responsibilities, Judy’s son and daughter and four grandchildren also make their home in Tucson allowing her to share in their lives.
Judy has successfully brought the Reading Pig to life with an extraordinary array of colorful and emotion filled illustrations. Judy increased her role in the third book by lending a hand to flesh out the overall story. Currently, Judy is developing the storyline for the fourth title in the series, The Reading Pig Goes to Music Class. Judy will be featured as the author/ illustrator. Look for that title in 2019.
